Platforms
In order to meet its objectives, AYNJ, with the cooperation of the ten ASEAN youth and student organizations, organize activities based on three platforms: (1) culture and sports; (2) career and entrepreneurship; and (3) academic.
Culture and Sports
ASEAN Festival
An annual event where the ten ASEAN youth and student organization come together and share their country’s culture to fellow ASEAN students. Each student organization prepares a cultural performance, and a fashion show to showcase their country’s traditional songs, dances, and clothes. Visitors can also get a taste of South East Asia by sampling the different snacks sold at the food booths. The Students’ Network for International Exchange (SNIE), an organization composed of Japanese students, also joins the festivities and performs the popular Yosakoi danceto entertain the audience.
Sports Festival
The Sports Festival is another yearly event where ASEAN student organizations select their best athletes and pit them against each other in different sports such as basketball, badminton, and table tennis. Outstanding players are recognized with small tokens and certificates.
Career and Entrepreneurship
ASEAN Students Career Fair
This job fair aims to provide ASEAN students with higher chances at working in Japan through the matching of Japanese companies and prospective applicants from ASEAN countries.
Academic
ASEAN-Japan Academic Forum
The ASEAN-Japan Academic Forum aims at providing a platform to promote young ASEAN researchers in Japan, as well as Japanese researchers doing research related to the 10 ASEAN countries. The Forum also hopes to create further opportunities for greater cooperation between ASEAN and Japanese researchers, through the sharing of knowledge and expertise. This pioneer project aspires to advance research in ASEAN, and the furtherance of ASEAN young researchers themselves.
